"And They Were Strong"
This portrait was inspired by the many women I know who have endured for the sake of their children, their God, and even simply to do the right thing. Reading a chapter of a book that spoke of such women gave me the final push to put my feelings into art. This portrait is named with a simple phrase from the chapter: "And [They] Were Strong" (The Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi, chapter 17).
"And They Were Strong" won 3rd place for Underrepresented Figures in the 2023 Book of Mormon Art Contest. It was drawn with charcoal and measures 6 inches tall by 4 inches wide. The artwork comes framed as pictured.
The frame measures 9 inches tall by 7 inches wide by 3/4 inch deep and comes with a beveled mat. The frame includes D-hooks, ring hooks, and a frame stand for displaying.
